New Zealand Rabbits

We raise purebred New Zealand Rabbits. One of the most popular rabbit breed in the USA, New Zealands are famous for being hearty, healthy, docile rabbits that are useful as a meat-producer or as a very soft and cuddly pet. We typically breed our females 2-4 times per year and usually have baby rabbits available. Just get in touch with us by filling out the form at the bottom of the page.

Our breeding rabbits have excellent genetic traits and have proven to be very fertile and produce offspring without genetic defects. They have diverse color traits and produce offspring bearing red, calico, broken red, broken black, tricolored, and tortoise patterns.

Rabbits are ready to go home when they are weaned at 6 to 10 weeks. We play with our baby bunnies daily and they are very friendly and love sitting on your lap. They can easily be trained to be excellent pets, indoors or outdoors. We feed our rabbits high-quality hay and pellet feed and also graze them on native grasses on our homestead from an early age.

New Zealand rabbits are valued on large and small homesteads because they are disease-resistant, climate-tolerant, and are excellent reproducers. Bucks (males) weigh 9–11 lbs, while does (females) weigh 10–12 lbs. Average litter size is 8 kits. If you do wish to raise them for healthy, low-maintenance, sustainable meat, they are ready for the freezer at 10-12 weeks. They certainly represent a prolific and cost-effective option for raising your own meat.
